There are numerous opportunities and avenues for success out there. Is it necessary that you find the perfect one to begin your home business? Of course not. It’s much more important to “build yourself up” to the level of being able to advance from one level of achievement to the other. You have to make the decision to grow and succeed. John Maxwell once said that “Crisis is change trying to take place.” Take the hint and advance through change.

It is not the home business marketing strategies, opportunities, methods, or avenues that are stopping you from reaching your dreams. It is YOU. The sooner this clicks in, the sooner you will change and grow. It’s the person, not the opportunity. Change can be frightening, and is something we all resist. But it is exactly this change that allows us to achieve our dreams, and break our cycle of mediocrity. So diagnose, fix, and change.

Of course startegies, opportunities, and marketing methods are all part of the puzzle, but the main piece is YOU! If necessary forget about the strategies and opportunities for awhile, and concentrate on learning, grwoing and developing yourself. Get clear on what you really want, and what you are willing to do to make that happen. Once you develop and build yourself up, you will then be able to successfully apply all the strategies necessary to have a successful home business. Discover your success first on the inside, and then it will naturally appear on the outside.

Once you make a decision to set up your home office and start your business, you have to decide just what kind of businessman you will be. Are you going to be the type that is easily discouraged, and buys into all the negativity in the marketplace? Or are you going to be an “entrepreneur” who always sees the light at the end of the tunnel, and is solution oriented. I would suggest the latter.

Because you can have the best marketing mentor in the world, all the strategies at your finger tips, and the best looking website that is totally optimized, but you will still run into challenges and roadblocks. That is invevitable. Especially in our current business climate, it is essential that you BE an entrepreneur.

Learn to thrive on challenges, and see the opportunity in any given situation. Advertise, more not less, when times are difficult. Find ways to cut back in nonessential areas. The greater the challenge, the more determined you need to be. We have all struggled, and that is precisely what makes us strong. Don’t avoid it. Keep the passion of your dreams alive every moment of the day. Allow your creative juices to flow, and act on any good ideas. Dedicate yourself to achieve.

The message is this. The greatest things take struggle to achieve. The path is filled with potholes and obstacles. So accept that and move on. No matter how much great copy you read about becoming wealthy overnight, there is the reality of a price to pay for success. And look forward to paying that price. The money is just a reflection of the changed person that you will become. With this new found inner strength, you have obtained tools for a lifetime. So apply your home business marketing strategies with dedication and determination. Challenges come and challenges go. Be a true entrepreneur and refuse to give up. You are the constant regardless of the current conditions.

As we all know there is tons of information online and offline about marketing. We have all been conned and overwhelmed at times if we have been in business any length of time. But when building a home business we finally learn that it is quality and not quanity that matters.

Just today, I was speaking with a business colleague from another part of the country about a joint venture in China. We have known each other for a few years, and value each other’s guidance and insight. What we spoke about mostly was the importance of only dealing with people of integrity who do what they say they will do, and honor all commitments and contracts. Life is too short to do otherwise.

So be very selective with whom you associate and choose to do business. Also select your sources of guidance and information very carefully. You do not have time or resources to waste. When putting together a marketing promotion only work with people you trust, and on whom you can rely. When getting started, this means doing a lot of due diligence, and when and if you make an error in judgment, cut your losses and change course.

This may seem like an obvious fact, but when doing business on a daily basis, this must be uppermost in your mind. It is much better to deal with a few key associates that are honest and committed, than with a mixed bag of folks that are all over the board. Create your home business marketing strategies with the help and guidance of successful entrepreneurs that are determined, energized, and committed to win-win relationships.

It is difficult enough in building a home business without all the confusion and misinformation out there. And believe me there are many folks and organizations that have a vested interest in your ignorance about the ways things really work. Many myths and fables are propagaged on money and business by many self serving entities.

We are mainly taught by people with no money on how to make money, whether this is online or in our communities. That is the blind leading the blind. Good business strategies need to be taught by successful entrepreneurs with the experience of success. We are taught many things that simply don’t work. But there is a higher way.

When you want to learn an effective marketing promotion find someone who is currently promoting successfully in the niche you wish to enter. Sit yourself down in front of a real entrepreneur, and forget about your resume. We are talking about getting things done NOW, and not about what occurred over the years. A successful entrepreneur is only interested in the “show me” attitude. Not what you’ve done or want to do. You can get yourself financially free, and make your dreams come true regardless of your age, current finances, education, background or connections. None of that matters.

And you can do it fast and will no risk. You can be a successful self employed entrepreneur by merely investing in your education on a part time basis. So go for it. Reach out and take your financial freedom. This may sound too good to be true, but it is really up to you. Do just two (2) things to get beyond any doubts or skepticism. Get the training and support you need from successful people, and make a commitment and work hard for one (1) year. You need the motivation to keep going despite the setbacks, detours, disappointments and resistance that will come up. How badly do you want to be free? Don’t answer that. Just Go For It!

When you make good business decisions, you succeed. Your philosophy forms your decisions, so choose it well. The success of your home business is based on making good decisions. Decisions are either based on emotion or rational thought. Emotions are reactive. It’s important to understand your emotions, and the premises on which they are based. You function well when your mind and emotions are integrated.

When implementing business strategies, be guided by your mind. Doing business guided by your values and philosophy will fuel your success. As a self employed entrepreneur it’s crtical to make good business decisions. Develop a philosophy of success. Is perseverance and “can do” part of your philosophy?

When imlementing a marketing promotion, base your business decisions on creating value for others. Good business decisions are the result of rational thought. Learn to say “no” even when it costs you money. Be very selective in your decisions, and you will achieve great success.

Everything that you are is reflected in the way you do business. Choose your colleagues and vendors carefully. See the big picture. Brand yourself well. Each decision you make has long term consequences. Never compromise your philosophy. It is much easier to operate your business when it is based on a sound philosophy, and you are surrounded by like minded, ethical partners.

Building a home business or any type of business requires the skills of effective leardership. It’s important for us to learn from others on our life journey, and then take those skills to lead others. We were each born with unique abilities, and tuning into that talent allows you to effectively guide others, and learn more about yourself and your talent.

Leadership enhances all of your goals, and allows you to express your passion. Passion leads to determination, action and then accomplishment.
